Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client Mota-Engil-Uganda, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to work in Uganda.
Position: Senior Engineering Manager.
Department: Production.

Job summary:
The role holder will be responsible for overseeing the successful completion of works on the project.

Key roles and responsibilities
• Investigate sites to determine and evaluate construction conditions.
• Prepare engineering calculations required for the design of projects and supervise the drafting of plans.
• Produce detailed designs and documentation for the construction, implementation and monitoring of civil engineering projects.
• Oversee the delivery of materials, plant machinery and equipment needed for the construction project and supervise labour
• Develop detailed programmes for the coordination of site activities.
• Work with other engineers, foremen, surveyors, Safety and an environmental officer or any other staff involved in the project, in teamwork and professionalism.
• Assist with the computerized design of the projects.
• Coordinate and direct research, development and testing of materials, processes or systems related to civil engineering works.
• Research, advise on and plan the control and minimization of air, water and solid waste pollution, and the management of water resources.
• Supervise the testing and commissioning of completed works.
• Process, analyse and interpret reports on loading, labour, equipment, productivity, quality, materials, and performance.
• Analyse risks associated with Safety procedures to be implemented in the works and natural disasters (including fires and floods), and design structures and services to meet appropriate standards.
• Comply and ensure compliance with safety procedures implemented by the company.

Qualifications, Skills, and Education required.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or in a related field.
• 15 years of proven work experience with high knowledge in road design engineering and site production control.
• Must have worked on international construction projects for at least 5 years.
• Advanced knowledge in road geometry, geology and geotechnical, Site ground recognition (in-situ soil tests) and operational topography.
• Knowledge of procurement and logistics processes is an added advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of current engineering design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Expertise in developing and maintaining critical real-time serving systems in an environment where priorities are frequently shifting
• Experience in managing, coaching, and guiding high-performing software development teams located around the world.
• Background in leading and growing people both technically and professionally.
• Experience solving and implementing scalable solutions to solve complex problems in a corporate setting.
