FHI 360 is implementing the USAID Maternal Child Health and Nutrition (USAID MCHN) Activity, a five- year program (January 2020 to December 2024) designed and funded by USAID to improve maternal, newborn, child health, and nutrition (MNCH) outcomes in Uganda. The Activity also supports the accelerated universal national-level rollout of strategies (policies, guidelines, SOPs, tools, etc.) and high-impact practices for MNCH and nutrition.

Reports to: Deputy Chief of Party - Kampala
Duration: 30 days

Purpose:
FHI 360 seeks a technical consultant to provide technical assistance to the SCAPP and RCH (reproductive child health) departments to develop national level guidance on respectful maternity care.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Work closely with the SCAAP and Reproductive and Child Health department teams to develop respectful care interventional framework, implementation guidelines, respectful maternity care manual
• Conduct engagement meetings with the line MOH department teams and/or its relevant stakeholder for concurrence and approval of the developed documents. Review, obtain concurrence and approval for the documents though the standard MoH processes.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Master's degree in obstetrics and gynecology, public health, or health-related disciplines.
• At least five (5) years of working experience in Maternal health, public health sector with demonstrated experience in analysis and documentation in the area of RMNCAH is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
• Knowledge of national and international RC and maternal health frameworks and guidelines
• Working knowledge of the WHO quality of care framework would be a plus
• Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, excel, and word (formatting, presentation, and analysis skills)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple stakeholders toward achieving common goals.
