About This Job:
Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a suitable, competent and skilled Technical Process Operator to work in Uganda.

JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Process Operator will be responsible for ensuring that the equipment (Line) in production will be working on optimal levels by safeguarding proper handling, maintenance and repairs of machines.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supply plan execution
1. Plan interpretation & loading of equipment as per the supply schedule.
2. Deployment of production assistants following the approved deployment standards and as per the skill levels of production assistants.
3. Setup, adjustments & machine operation as per the standard machine operating procedures.
4. Ensure that the planned targets are achieved before production assistants are released.

Materials management
1. Workplace organization as per the 5S standards.
2. Updating of BMRs for purposes of yield reporting & traceability.
3. Materials reconciliation at shift end & returning of unused PM to the PM holding location.

Performance management
1. Training of production assistants.
2. Shiftwise & line wise performance reporting using logbooks.
3. Raise at least one innovation per month that is geared towards performance improvement.
4. Share root causes for failure to attain production targets during daily performance review meetings.
5. Monitor & report on the 6 big losses that affect OEE with an improvement aim.

Asset care
1. Daily equipment cleaning
2. Participate in equipment lubrication
3. Daily equipment inspection & reporting of abnormalities.
4. Carryout simple maintenance tasks like tightening & fixing of worn-out parts.

Quality Control (Line clearance & in-process checks)
1. Perform line clearance before and at the end of the shift.
2. Check weight variations by sampling containers every 30 minutes and perform machine adjustments where quantities are out of tolerance.
3. Check correctness of printed matter i.e., batch number, manufacturing and expiry dates.
4. Check quality of packaging materials i.e., Jars, labels & caps. Notify QA if non-conformities are identified.

Health & safety
1. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe behaviors, near misses and any other safety related incident.
2. Log at least one JSO per month
3. Participate in OHS investigations, hazard identification & risk assessments when called upon.
4. Financial Management
5. Monitor and ensure zero waste across the different production processes.

Risk Management
1. Identify the department’s risks, their various mitigations and keep track of them.

Compliance
1. Ensure regulatory compliance in execution of activities within Uganda
2. Adherence to all the company and In Country Policies and Procedures.
3. Prepare and submit location daily report.

Qualifications & Experience
1. Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
2. Awareness in occupational health & safety
3. 1 year’s relevant experience in FMCG Industry preferably in a similar role.
