JOB DETAILS:
The Organisation
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion, and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, our supporters, and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national, and global levels using our reach, experience, and knowledge.
We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and are now active in more than 80 countries.
The Opportunity

Cognizant of this need Plan International is implementing emergency and recovery response in four states of South Sudan, namely Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Western Equatoria, Upper Nile, Lakes and Jonglei. This program includes food assistance, agricultural rehabilitation, Food Security and Livelihoods, Education in Emergencies and Child Protection in Emergencies.
Plan South Sudan is seeking an experienced Head of Business Development to be based in the Country Office. The post holder will work proactively with National Organisations (NOs) in the Plan Federation to identify and win appropriate grant opportunities by ensuring the timely and quality delivery of successful grant proposals and building the capacity of team members in the development of strong quality proposals.
The Individual
You have extensive knowledge and experience of leading strategic resource mobilization in the development and humanitarian sector. Especially as a business development professional. You have proven experience in senior leadership, strategic networking and program design.
You have a track record of leading the development of new resource mobilization efforts. This may include mega projects, private and institutional donor proposals, humanitarian and development proposals and other innovative approaches to mobilize resources.
