JOB DETAILS:
Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client in the telecom sector, we are looking for a competent, skilled and experienced ISP FTTH TECHNICIAN to work in Kampala.

Job Purpose: The FTTH Technician is a flexible fiber optic technician involved in all construction and maintenance operations of the passive network and FTTH customer lines, the pulling and installation of fiber optic cables, the installation of boxes and fiber splicing, urbanization and patchwork of fibers in cabinets, customer connections, optical photometry, and reflectometry tests.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Technical Interventions to the Company’s Standards:
• Adhere to intervention schedules and ensure punctuality.
• Prepare teams thoroughly with logistics (materials, tools, transport) and technical feasibility analysis.
• Perform construction and maintenance work on customer lines, including cable laying (facade, underground, overhead), connections (soldering, labeling), and installation of equipment on overhead supports.
• Fault Management and Compliance:
• Locate faults, carry out compliance studies, and conduct tests with optical measurements and result analysis.
• Ensure adherence to technical specifications, company’s standards, and cleanliness in all work areas, including client premises and public spaces.
• Intervention Reporting and Collaboration:
• Ensure the completion of detailed intervention reports by FTTH technician teams.
• Coordinate with design teams and other company departments to facilitate seamless interventions.
• Client Relationship Management:
• Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with clients.
• Act as a reference point for quality and professionalism in line with company benchmarks.
• Safety and Risk Prevention:
• Apply risk prevention rules for working at height and near electrical environments.
• Properly use, maintain, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow roadside safety rules, including consistent markings and parking regulations, and promptly report any risky situations to superiors.

Mandatory Requirements:
• Experience + / - 5 years in the supervision or execution of works in the telecommunications sector, infrastructure
• deployment (water, electricity, etc.), built or civil works
• Mastery of technical constraints related to fixed telecommunications networks and fiber optic networks in particular
• Higher education such as Engineering School, diplomat certificate, University or Technical Diploma (specialization in
• Telecommunications, Civil Works, or Electricity)
• Driver's license
• Mastery of IT tools and the office pack
• Fluency in English
