The Vacancy Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Research District Officer to join our team in Moroto, Karamoja region.
The Research District Officer will ensure that research activities during the second phase of the SMC pilot project in Uganda are carried out at District level in accordance with study protocols and to high quality standards.
The successful candidate will have: • An undergraduate degree in Statistics, Project Management, Public Health, or a related subject
• At least 5 years’ of work experience in M&E and an advanced training in research
• Experience with performance monitoring and evaluation for international or national development projects, including developing performance indicators, data collection and analysis
• Experience in the design and implementation of data collection and data management systems
• Experience in data analysis and evaluation
• Experience in translating data into accessible reports for diverse audiences
• Experience conducting large scale quantitative surveys
• Good reading and writing skills in English and local language (Karamajong/Swahili and Pokoti)
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Flexible and able to work establishing a new intervention in a challenging environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences including district health authority staff, health facility staff, community leaders and SMC implementers
• Able to ride a motorbike – with more than 5 years’ driving experience and own a valid driving license

The Vacancy Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a District Officer (2 posts) to join our team in Moroto, Karamoja Region.
The post holder will also contribute to project documentation and reporting, ensuring transparency and accountability. Through establishing close working relationships with district health authorities, health facilities and communities, the post holder will play a critical role in ensuring buy-in for and create ownership of the project from relevant local stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have: • First degree, or other technical qualification in healthcare, nursing, or public health and the relevant experience highlighted below.
• Experience of supporting the implementation of a public health intervention at district level
• Experience of supporting planning, community engagement and training in the context of a public health intervention
• Experience of supporting procurement and supply management in relation to a public health campaign
• Experiencing of compiling and quality assuring project reports, research, monitoring and evaluation data
• Good reading and writing skills in English and local Language.

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Salary US$ 17,241
Location Moroto, Uganda
The Vacancy Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join our team in Moroto Field Office.
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will serve as the main focal person for all monitoring and evaluation related activities for seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) in the Karamoja Sub region. S/he will assist and report to the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist - SMC regarding the monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
The successful candidate will have:
• Degree in statistics, demography, mathematics or any other relevant quantitative relevant discipline
• Demonstrable contextual knowledge of local issues, community priorities, social and cultural constraints and realities related to community assessment, project design, evaluation and implementation
• Cognate experience in monitoring and evaluation of community-based interventions is highly desirable
• Experience attending HMIS data verification and validation review meetings with health facility workers at district and community Levels
• At least 3 years’ experience in managing HMIS, attending data verification and review meetings with health facility workers and familiarity with Uganda public sector health systems as well as community-level programme implementation.
• Proficiency in database management especially DHIS; Excel, Word, PowerPoint and demonstrable experience with statistical software packages (Stata, SPSS, Epi Info).
